I was lucky to be invited to last years festival in the Dalles and I loved it. (This photo is the view from the campus!) The class room are amazing. They are dark for slides and bright for knitting + the AV is the best.
I also can't say enough about how wonderful the marketplace is. The room is light filled, with a wall of windows showing off all of the many and exciting vendor's wares.
These are the classes I'll be teaching. Be sure to check out who else will be there.
From the CCFF web site:
Friday, ALL DAY – Make It Your Own: Cabled Poncho: Learn some of Norah’s favorite techniques while knitting her cabled poncho and customizing it for yourself. Knit it as shown or substitute your choice of cables from Norah’s newest book, Norah Gaughan’s Knitted Cable Sourcebook (included in class fee). Included is discussing how to modify the poncho to become a pullover and changing the neck treatment.
Saturday, ALL DAY – Easy Designing: Cable Additions & Substitutions: Ever wished you knew how to add cables to a sweater pattern? The first step to designing is the urge to change patterns. Explore how to add cables to an existing pattern and how to substitute one cable for another while studying examples from hats & scarves to skirts & sweaters. Norah has devised a method to make switching up cables easier, but be prepared to swatch.
Sunday AM – Knitting 2-Sided Cables: Learn how to knit 2 different types of 2 sided cables. The first looks great on both sides because it is built of ribbing and the second has a different cable on each side. Knitting from a chart is a necessity in this class but you can learn as you go.
